BCAA Instant from SPONSER® is a micronized and instantised powder for preparing/mixing into sports drinks or shakes. The branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) leucine, isoleucine and valine, combined in the advantageous 3:1:1 ratio, belong to the essential amino acids which the body cannot produce itself.
Function & application
BCAA Instant is equally suitable for use in strength and endurance sports. BCAAs are especially needed and metabolised during physical exertion. BCAA Instant permits the supplementation of drinks or shake in a targeted manner to delay the breakdown of the body's own amino structures, and thus support the build-up and maintenance of muscle mass. Numerous studies also proved a positive influence of BCAA on fatigue resistance, especially at ultra-endurance events.
Variants and ingredients
SPONSER® offers BCAA Instant as an unflavoured, pure version to add to other products, whereas the flavoured cola version is additionally enriched with taurine and vitamins, which help to reduce fatigue and contribute to a normal energy metabolism.

Leucine
Leucine is the most important amino acid in terms of muscle protein synthesis. It has a "triggering" function, i.e. it ignites and enhances the growth stimulus for muscle protein synthesis. SPONSER's BCAA formulations provide the maximally allowed daily dose of leucine according to Swiss food law.
Isoleucine, Valine
Together with leucine, these two amino acids stimulate muscle protein synthesis not only as building blocks for protein synthesis, but also via their cellular signalling function.
Both ingested and endogenous BCAA can be used for energy production (gluconeogenesis) during prolonged physical exertion when the body's energy stores (glycogen reserves) are running low.
Taurine
Taurine has primarily an antioxidant function and is involved in many metabolic processes. However, taurine is not an amino acid and does not have an activating or fatigue-retarding effect as is generally assumed due to its wide use in energy drinks.
Vitamins
Vitamins C, B2, B6, B12, niacin and pantothenic acid contribute to reduce fatigue and support normal energy metabolism. Vitamin B6 supports a normal protein and glycogen metabolism, folic acid contributes to a normal amino acid metabolism.
